If I went back to visit my family in the 1930's I would bring some cookies muesli bars and three books, ice-blocks and clothes. I would take those things because they wouldn't know what they are and I could introduce them to new things.

Pirate coding

Today we we did some pirate coding. first we had to look at the example then we could make our own grid and it was about christmas and santa had to get to his sack with the presents in it with out getting eaten by the lions.

Vaseline Saucers

A few weeks ago we made Vaseline Saucers and they had to be symmetrical like a mirror. A Vaseline saucer is made out of a plate and has flower petals on it. I did well because it was symmetrical.

Today we wrote a poem about a Christmas tree and we sketched a tree.

My Nana has tablets at her house and lets me play on them when I ask her.

My Nana bakes yummy baking for me.

My Nana takes me to the beach and swims with me.

Coding

Today Tania came to tech us about coding and how to use coding languages. We have done a gingerbread man coding map. Here is my awesome gingerbread man coding map from today...
Some words I have learnt:
I am using computational thinking to my gingerbread man or girl. If I have a mistake in my programme it is called a bug and I need to debug my programme.

Fathers Day Writing

World pollution

This week we have been learning how to use Thinglink .I have written about  what I know about how to save the world.

kauri tree

 Last week we made Kauri art. First we drew clouds on with white and grey crayon, then we dyed our piece of paper blue. Then we finger painted another piece of paper grey, green, black, brown and yellow.  Then we painted another piece of paper green with a sponge. Then we glued on the trunk to our piece of paper. After that we ripped up the green piece and glued them on top of the trunk to make the leaves. Then we wrote slogans about what you should do when you are visiting Kauri trees and forests.

Garden to table

This term we have been learning something called garden to table. It is so fun. My favourite part is cooking because we get to make yummy muffins. I hope we will be doing it next year.

Animal town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story.

What I like about my writing is punctuation.

I need to improve on my spelling.

Here is my writing about Animal Town.

I was so bored sitting on that hard bumpy seat until finally Mr Stripes walked over and said, “that giraffe is speeding with a couple of gangsters in that yellow van over there!”

I said, “right where are these people I have been hearing about?” "Just across the road there, replied Mr Stripes. I put my glasses on to see where the yellow van was. I gave them a ticket and they drove off to New York City. I turned around with a big smile on my face and went home to make banana on toast. Once I got there I looked in my fruit bowl but there were no bananas left so I got in my car. Once I got out of my driveway a tree fell over so I hopped out of my car and walked to the shop.

I looked out of my rainbow balloon and I saw a sea of hot air balloons.  It was an amazing sight. But I couldn't get distracted I had to get on with the game. By the time we got to America my packet of chips had run out. I was starving to death so I asked my crew if they had any chips left .  One person out of my crew said “Do you want to win or not?’ Yes you're right I shouldn't worry about that stuff .Anyway who is going to stay up for the night shift? I stood up and said “How about ini mini mini mo whoever gets mo stays up. Right ! Let's do it.Sadly I was the one who had to stay up  for the night shift.

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is the full stops at the end of my sentences.

I need to improve on my spelling . We also made a google draw showing the things that we had to carry on the story.

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

Maker space

In Makerspace we got to create something related to Autumn. I chose to create a Lego Autumn Tree. Then I wrote a poem about Autumn.

   

Leaves falling on the ground. Changing colours red and yellow. Trees shaking in the breeze. Empty trees with no leaves.

MY ANZAC DAY Writing

We have been learning about  ANZAC day. We started to learn about it at the start of the term and we are finishing it off today. Here is my letter.

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.
